NH RETIREMENT SYSTEM - FOR AGE 60 OR OLDER ACTIVE MEMBERS - "PRE-SELECTION BEFORE SERVICE RETIREMENT" FORM
Why file this form: The advantage of filing a Pre-Selection form is that, if the member dies while in service and before filing a retirement application, and if the beneficiary(ies) named on the Pre-Selection form is the same primary beneficiary(ies) as named on the Designation of Death Beneficiary(ies), pre-retirement form, then the member's beneficiary(ies) may choose whichever is more advantageous to the beneficiary(ies): lifetime pension or lump sum payment.

NHRS - My Account - NHRS's online portal where users can access their personal account information, has been updated recently to incude the benefit estimator that had been taken offline in the past. You may access My Acccount from the homepage at www.nhrs.org. This is valuable tool as you plan for the future!
My Account Users - NHRS will be upgarding the security features on "My Account" in the spring of 2014. A reminder email listing these changes will be sent to current users 7-10 days prior to the implementation date of the upgrade.
403(b) and/or 457 Plans - all employees of SAU 21 and its School Districts are eligible to voluntarily participate in a 403(b) Plan or a 457 Plan. Please logon to the SAU 21 website, www.sau21.org, for a list of selected vendors and an enrollment handbook. NHRS has created new benefit summary brochures for Group I (Employee and Teacher).
These brochures provide a basic outline of benefits available to:
· Members who were vested prior to January 1, 2012.
· Members who were in service prior to July 1, 2011, but not vested prior to January 1, 2012.
· Members hired on or after July 1, 2011.
