Partnerships in Education and Resilience (PEAR)

PEAR relies on the Clover Model of child development.  Clover highlights four essential elements that students need in order to thrive, learn, and develop: Active Engagement, Assertiveness, Belonging, and Reflection.  PEAR developed the Holistic Student Assessment (HSA) as a self-reporting survey that provides teachers, program staff and administrators with a social-emotional “portrait” of the unique strengths and challenges of each young person.

The districts of SAU21 have partnered with PEAR to offer HSA to our students whose families provide expressed written consent.

The links below include parent communication related to an HSA overview, FAQ documents, and a copy of the HSA strengths-focused survey.

In addition to many no-cost resources, SAU21 Districts have partnered with the Cook Center for Human Connection to offer private 1:1 coaching sessions with a trained mental health coach to interested families and staff members. These sessions include a weekly 30 minute phone call and 24/7 access to a professional via text or email. The service is offered in English or Spanish. The Cook Center provides a customized roadmap of support based on family needs. We anticipate that this will be an invaluable resource for families.
