HAMPTON — Superintendent Meredith Nadeau is pleased to share the success of Winnacunnet High School's Sea to Summit program for incoming first-year and sophomore students.

Sea to Summit is an educational summer enrichment program for incoming first-year and sophomores at Winnacunnet High School, one of several early opportunities WHS provides its incoming first-year students to develop a sense of school community and create lasting peer relationships.

The program emphasizes a rigorous STEM-based curriculum and builds real-world connections to local history through field trips with destinations ranging from the Seacoast to the White Mountains.

The experience offered 40 students a chance to study buoyancy, projectile motion, propulsion, and glacial formations, as well as local history tied to field trips including the Blue Ocean Society on Hampton Beach, a visit to the Isles of Shoals and Star Island, a guided tour of the Portsmouth Black Heritage Trail, an exploration of Fort Foster in Kittery, a trip to the top of Cannon Mountain, and a hike of the Flume Gorge.

"Winnacunnet High School prides itself on its efforts to be an inclusive, warm, and welcoming place for incoming students while providing opportunities for educational growth," said Superintendent Nadeau. "The Sea to Summit program is a great example of one of these programs that brings students together while being educationally engaging."
