Dear Parents,
Week 3 has been a very positive one as we get into the rhythm of a new school year. We had 100% of our health checks completed before school started today so thank you for that! Here are a couple of informative items for you as you plan for next week.
Communication: In the next couple of weeks our staff will be creating an informative video that will give you a visual of your child's learning environment and information about curriculum, competencies, classroom procedures, projects, UA classes, supports, morning meetings, teacher expectations and other items that are unique to each grade level or team. We plan to have these sent to you by October 9th. Beginning the week of October 13th and until October 30th we will be reaching out to you to hold virtual parent conferences. This will give you a chance to talk with staff about your child and ask any questions that you may have regarding his/her progress in school.
Student photos: Student photos will be taken on October 7th. They will be taken outside this year and all of the "paperwork" will be virtual. Geskus is our photographer and they have protocols in place to keep everyone safe. Students will not be wearing masks in photos as we will create the set up with enough distance between people. If it rains that day I do not think we will have a make up day, nor will they return to do any photos over.
Bicycle helmets: I love that so many students are enjoying riding bikes to and from school! I am becoming concerned however, that several of our older students are not wearing helmets. They are required by law at this age whether they are cool or not. If your child is a rider I would appreciate you speaking with them about this and I will continue to do it on my end. We just want everyone to be safe. Thank you in advance.
