Friday Notes - 11/20/20

Dear Parents,

I have been working on creating activities that our students can participate in outside during the winter months. This will include an ice skating rink in right field of our baseball field. I have been meeting with Grant Winnes, a former LAS Dad and the man that initiated the rink at Governor Weare Park, and also members of the HF Rec Dept. We have agreed that the rink will go up on our property this year so that our students will have an additional activity outside during PE classes and beyond. I am reaching out to all of you to see if we can create a group of Mom's and Dad's that could help me make all of this a reality. Mr. Winnes will join our group since he knows how to do this but then I am sure all of the maintenance and keeping the ice smooth and safe will need lots of attention. If you are willing to help out throughout the winter please send me an email or give me a call.  Once I get a group we can set up a meeting time to get going. We could call our group the "Rink Rats" or "Freezin for a Reason" and I promise we will have fun! Most importantly, I think the kids will love it!

If you have skates hanging around in your closest that don't fit your kids anymore please do not throw them out, I am sure we will have lots of kids that could use them!
