Dear Parents,
We have had a terrific start to the school year! The LAS campus looks beautiful with our new paving and landscaping, and the inside of our building looks cheery and welcoming. I commend our staff for getting ready for school year 22-23. It is great to have all students back in the building; they have given us so many reasons to smile each day!
North-East Passage, a recreational therapy group from UNH, has been on campus this week, working with our middle school students to further our work on SEL. In a series of well-planned games and activities, the underlying lessons targeted empathy, compassion, inclusion, emotional regulation, responsible decision-making, effective communication, similarity awareness, and making connections with one another.
Just a reminder that Picture Day for students is September 6th.
Fall Sports
Fall sports will begin with practices next week. Any student in grades 5-8 can sign up in the gym. We are offering girls' and boys' soccer, cross-country running, and field hockey for girls.
From our Library
Mrs. Maguire and I are excited that our school year is underway! We are looking for a few volunteers to help keep our space organized and ready for students. We could use assistance with the following types of tasks:
Shelving books
Tidying shelves
Refreshing book displays
Preparing new books for circulation
Copying
Refreshing supplies
An hour or two of your time each week would greatly help. Please respond to aroy@sau21.org if you are interested.
Sincerely,
Amy Roy, Librarian
Dates to remember:
September 2 and 5, No School, Labor Day
September 6 Picture Day
September 13 No School, election day
Have a wonderful long weekend!
