Dear Parents,
The arrival of children at LAS this week was just what this staff needed. The daily laughter, giggling, and excitement they bring are always a joy to be around! We are off to a very positive start to school year 24-25.
Last week, our school board members approved an addition to our Student/Parent Handbook. We have had a successful 'no cell phone' policy to help keep our students focused on the task at hand while at school. This year, we have expanded that to include no Apple watches and similar devices that give our young students access to texting and the internet during school hours to maintain a distraction-free learning environment. Our Student/Parent Handbook provides information on the school's many services, activities, and policies. You can find the student handbook here.
The LAS staff and I cordially invite parents to our annual Curriculum Night Open House on Thursday evening, September 26, from 6 to 7:30 pm. Our Open House is an opportunity for you to meet teachers, see your child's classroom, and hear more about curriculum, classroom expectations, field trips, and other projects and activities. Please save the date; more detailed info will follow.
There is no school tomorrow and Monday in observance of Labor Day. I hope you and your family have a wonderful long weekend.
