The Hampton Area Lions Club comes annually to LAS and other surrounding schools with their Spot Screener to screen the children for 7 vision potential abnormalities.

They are coming Wednesday, 10/4/23 this year, and all childern whose families opted to participate will be screened.

A special thank you to Mr. Ed Fernald, KidSight Coordinator, who has been instrumental in the implementation of these annual well-organized screenings. Last year we screened all of the students who were present in school on 11/8/21 who had not opted out of the screening.  There were a few who had recommendations for vision exams. Screenings are quick and designed to help catch potential problems, and if concerns are noted an exam is recommended. Exams are about an hour-long thorough check of the eyes.
